Maybe I'm pessimistic but the feeling of Office Space is still alive and well today. Secret meetings to fire someone to take off by using unlimited PTO, managers walking around pointing their nose in the air to smell you to see if you are loyal, unlimited KPI, and Metrics to match your “synergy” with the companies business goals.
It makes me barf of all the things I see coworkers whom work their hardest to get a pink slip. Being dragged into HR for unsubstantiated claims and not even an apology. I can't wait to pay off my house as I have no idea who in the hell can afford them anymore besides tech bros and tik tokers.
World is falling apart daily and soon an international conflict will happen. Resources are limited not because no one wants to work but because of Covid delays and China lockdowns. I work my 40 and I'm out the door at 5 pm. I've had about enough. I throw all extra on my mortgage to be somewhat free and just pay property taxes and enjoy life. And yes I actually do my own repairs because unlike the execs that have nannies, cooks, and house cleaners, I don't get paid enough to afford it so when you come sideways on me for having to take my kid in. Look in the mirror and just remember you make the big bucks to slave away in the office for 80 hours a week or whatever. Don't push your negative vibes on md
