NYS work question

Hey all, As the title states I have a question about some thing pertaining to my job. I’m a bartender and I love where I work. Until now my manager and boss has been fair to me and my coworkers. Hey all,
As the title states I have a question about some thing pertaining to my job. I’m a bartender and I love where I work. Until now my manager and boss has been fair to me and my coworkers. There’s a new employee contract they released that claims that all front of house staff have to sign up a day or two to do a deep clean of the bar and restaurant. The space is large so it’s hard to do a full scale cleaning after our long shifts. Problem is, a lot of people like myself have other jobs and are in school thus preventing us from coming in during the day to do this cleaning. The cleaning is of course paid ($16 an hour) but I’m in college plus I don’t want to do it because I don’t care. Is it legally possible for them to fire me over this? To be clear, I did NOT sign anything. Any thoughts will be appreciated!
