I've been thinking about it today. Think about how much happier we'd be, how much calmer and less anxious we'd be if we didn't have to work as much as we do, or flat out didn't have to work just to survive. Like if the work week was 20 hours it would be fucking incredible, even a 3 day weekend would make such a substantial difference to our mental health. You wouldn't feel the pressure to make the most of every weekend because it'll go by so quickly. The unbearable dread on Sunday nights. We'd be so much better rested.
Yet we're forced to fucking work until we're old men and women and can barely move. And our generation won't even be able to afford fucking houses, cars, etc (unless you want to be a debt slave for years and years) like generations before unless you've had great mentorship throughout life and are in a good place or have a hefty inheritance coming your way. Sometimes I wonder, like why am I even fucking working when I'll never be able to afford a house like the generations before me?
Just fucking sucks man.
