My office job requires you to work 6 months as a temporary worker, with no holiday pay, sick pay, or vacation before they will CONSIDER onboarding you as a permanent employee. It's not even a guarantee! It's “based off of budgeting, performance and need”. You also have to interview AGAIN to get the position as you are not officially with the company until then.
During this time I work through a temp company that offers no health insurance, and I take a $2 pay cut.
This seems absolutely absurd to me? I heard from other employees that it could take up to 9 months to get them to onboard you fully as an employee.
I absolutely need this job as I'm the sole provider for my household. I tried looking up my company (it's a US wide organization) to see if anyone else has brought this up, but found nothing. Is this normal?
