I was just let go from a job I've had for over 8 years. No warning, no explanation, no severance or golden parachute. I poured my heart and soul into this company, working many late nights and weekends. It feels exactly like I was just dumped by a longtime partner, so unfortunately your career may someday wake up and tell you that it doesn't love you anymore. End rant.
