Only in the F*&^&ing service industry can you be expected to give away 20% or more of your net income, and be thankful for the opportunity to do so.

I recently unfortunately got back into the service industry, in a modest attempt to make some extra money waiting tables. And only in the FUCKING service industry can you have a night like I had last night, where I did $273 or so in gross sales, and the managers told me to round up, because you know, THE GREATER GOOD, PAY IT FORWARD, ETC ETC, and for less than $60 in tips, have to give $15 of it to food runners, bussers, and the bartenders. If you're an engineer, or work in IT, or ANY other industry, you don't go to work and think “ok I make $25 an hour/$48k a year, but 20-25% of that needs to go to my coworkers to thank them for all their mutual hard work!” Yet we smile and nod every time this BS comes up in the service industry because hey, that's how…
