Hi guys, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, sorry if it isn't. I have seen posts about job listings that trigger or irritate people, so I do not want to do the same. English is not my first language so I wanted to get your opinions.
I'm hiring developers for my company and need to send our (paid) take home assignment to a foreign candidate. Since this is a take home project, we have seen people who did not do the assignment themselves. I'm also a 16-year developer myself so cheaters clearly show after they start to work because they cannot literally do the same simple things on the job or it's obvious from the questions they ask. I own this company for more than a decade but it's still emotionally very hard for me to fire people even when they are in the wrong, so I felt the necessity to add this line to the assignment. This sounds much softer in my own language but when I translated to English, it seems a bit threatening. What do you think?
Do not get outside help and do the assignment yourself. This assignment is meant to test your programming skills and position you in the proper evaluation range. Cheating to get a good grade and positioning in a higher evaluation range than your skillset will result in unpleasant consequences in the long term.
