So I have a friend that was hired into a position and a really lucrative field that has the potential to be a good career. This does make me happy but one thing I did not like to hear is that the management encourages going places after work with your coworkers under the comment of ” You need to socialize with your coworkers, Don't be reclusive”. Also tells people to smile…. This is not a retail job, This is not a position where you talk to customers in any fashion at all.
I do not believe in forcing employees to hang out with their coworkers after work, because if they don't want to then they shouldn't have to. You're putting that person in a position that they may not be comfortable with because you have this idea that they should all be best friends. Thoughts?
