Someone I know has worked for Olive Garden tirelessly for 15+ years, starting as a waitress and has now been a manager for over half of that time. They've been exceptionally good at it too, receiving many accolades from the company for hitting goals and numbers the store has never seen before.
Recently, the store has had an issue with a select few employees who continuously call off work. This manager sent out a staff message informing employees that if this behavior continued, they would be let go. The guilty person that this message was aimed at got offended and decided to devise a plan to get this manager in trouble. The employee screen shotted the message and had a friend post it online, taking about how “terrible her manager is”.
So now OG is pissed about getting “bad publicity”, resulting in an investigation by the GM. The manager got fired for this.
These companies don't give a shit about us, no matter how good we are or how many years we've done it for them. They'll toss us out like a half eaten breadstick as soon as it's convenient for them.
