This is my 5th year at this company (my first ever job actually after finishing MA in informatics) but I never seen my drug addict boss this messed up. He is panicking every year around this time of the year, probably becuase we have holidays and day offs for longer period of time, and he made every living soul in his personal life to hate and avoid him so he feels alone.
For 2 years we didn't had anything because of COVID, but we didnt mind because these dinners usually about just him bragging how great he is and then we watch him get drunk and listen to his bragging speeches until he falls out shitfaced, then we leave. I would never want to go for a “party” like this again, so me and few of my collegues decided to not go.
He found out yesterday, he started to question every one of us for reasons why we wont go, we lied, the reason is him being a douche, but we made up exuses why we wont go, or just simply avoided answering because its not his business at all. Then he got pumped up mad (he also uses cocaine for sure) and started to yell with us, top voice, spit everythere. Mainly because why we dont “respect him” to go, bacuse he “respects us” to make a party for us. Umm..did I tell you that the ones who reported to go, had to pay 10€ each so we can buy hm a present, did I mention I never got a cent raise for 4 fuckin years (the only time I got a raise because I was about to leave that place 4 years ago because I was heavily underpaid – net 600€ for an IT job/month) Oh and did I mention that tomorrow (tonight is the christmas party) he wants us to go to work? I have a paper signed that I can have days off starting today – signed by the manager. He then questioned the manager front of us why he signed the paper and cursed him like a last sray dog, in front of our eyes. Then he started yelling that everyone who wont come to the Christmas party will get -200€ from paycheck and also will be kicked out from the workplace. I was shaking with anger whn I left work today.
Btw the party starts in 8 minutes, Im home with a bag of chips and wine and started up Red dead redemption 2 and wrote this post. Have happy holidays all, just wanted to share this story.
