We were unloading a truck this week and the truck driver was actually helping us. We don't have a loading dock so we have to drag heavy loads by chain and forklift to the end of the trailer to get to them with our forklift. (I could go on a rant about how unsafe I feel doing it) anyway he was actually helping us with the chain.
The truck driver and my supervisor ended up on an old person rant about how young drivers don't help. I appreciate the help but technically they don't have to. It's not part of their job and I totally understand not wanting to help.
Then the driver told a story about a new hire at his company who was sent out to make a delivery. It was just then they the company found out the new driver can't drive a manual transmission. The driver went on a rant about how some new drivers can get their license and not get trained for manual transmissions. He somehow put it on the driver. Not the company that trained them or the company that hired them without asking if they can drive stick.
Idk I'm just tired of older people automatically assuming it's the younger people at fault for issues in the workplace and not the companies.
