This is necessarily anti-work, I just need advice as a high school worker in California. I work at an airport and they are severely understaffed so, over the summer, they asked me to work two 12-hour shifts in a row. I said I wouldn't mind, so I worked both shifts, both days, 24 hours of work in 48 hours. (Also, quick side note, I get paid what I thought was below minimum wage but apparently if a company has less than 25 employees it is not). However, I thought you were entitled to overtime pay if you worked more than 8 hours a day. Am I mistaken? Is it 40 hours a week or 8 hours a day for overtime? Thanks for your help and replies!
