My girlfriend is currently working at the front desk of a hospital clinic (Michigan) and they have her working Thursday – Sunday, 13 hour days. They are claiming “the workweek starts Sunday” so she doesn't get overtime pay, despite working more than 40 hours within 4 consecutive days. My question is, is this legit? Do they get to set the “workweek” or is that determined by the employees schedule (when they start work, the week starts)
