Owner is obsessed with Facebook

I work for a small business where the owner, in his 60’s, is on Facebook 24/7. This is no exaggeration. He post something at minimum every 30 minutes. We’ve been working in a hybrid work environment for 3 years. But now he wants us back in the office just to say we are in the office 5 days a week. He adds everyone whom works for him to FB, and therefore everyone can see all the crap he post. He doesn’t do any work, just sits there and plays on FB 24/7 for as long as I know. 10+ years.

10+ years. Even if he has work or needs something done, as small as writing an email, he gets someone else to do it for him.

Walks in, never says hi to anyone, never asks how you’re doing. Just talks about himself and his multiple rental properties. In all the years I’ve been there, never once asked us how we are doing, about our families or any feedback about the business. During the height of the pandemic he disappeared to his properties in Mexico for 6 months.

When things go sideways, he blames everyone but himself. He has a couple flying monkeys that keep tabs on everyone’s movements. When he’s upset, he starts yelling at people and slamming his desk. Sometimes throwing things and belittling people. Any feedback to him is not welcomed. He sees it as an attack.

It’s soul sucking. I’ve hired multiple people and they keep quitting because of his behaviour. His response is “oh well, at least we got some time and business out of them for ourselves, next”

What is this a sign of?
