Always in trouble for being a whistle blower at work, thinking of quitting Healthcare altogether.

I've seen multiple jobs that I've been working at over the years sweep things under the rug. The worst offenders are Healthcare, and caregiving. I've been threatened for reporting serious neglect that caused a death in the past. Yesterday, I reported abuse done to a patient. I came into work today and the first thing that happened was that I was called into the office and had my first write up..something about turning in paperwork a day late. That happened two weeks ago, so why am I getting written up now? In this day and age, you will receive retaliation for reporting shit. I'm done…can't do Healthcare no more. Fuck it!

boss told me to work overtime and then got mad at me for having to pay me overtime

so I work in social media marketing and have worked w this company for almost six months. A few weeks ago my boss told me she wanted me to get ahead by a week on my work. Meaning I’d have to do two weeks of work in one week. A weeks worth of work takes me about 40 hours. So I tried doing that last week, and ended up working almost 60 hours. I work from home, and have to submit my hours on a timesheet every week. When my timesheet was submitted, my boss called me and got on my ass about how the company can’t pay me over time and how I needed to contact her if I go over 40 hours. She told me to stop working so much and told me not to work 40 hours this week. I’m at a loss here because I was…

Is it legal for the recruiter to ask how much my current pay is?

Is it legal? I guess it is confidential and i can just not answer. The concept is they interview me and up to the part of how much i expect for the current role i would give them a number. So I guess they would match it or offer slightly higher as they of course if they can pay me less than they could actually offer.

But why do they need to work at all?

The main argument that anti-WFH people will use is that without millions of office workers commuting to work, the millions of other people whose industries rely on that commute will lose their jobs. In essence, without the meaningless business instigated by a commuting workforce, people doing meaningless jobs wouldn't be able to make a living. But this brings up an interesting question: why do they need to work at all? If you think about it, they don't. At the moment, millions of people spend their day working in service of millions of commuters, even though there's a perfectly good alternative. The commuters pay for no good reason and the commuter-dependent workers work for no reason. The only people who truly benefit from this system are the commuter-dependent employers, who get both money and labor (the employers of commuters also benefit, but for different reasons unrelated to this post). But what…

I quit my really well paying job because I had no time for anything.

(I am in Hungary btw but I think this is a universal problem) I just started this job last week, it pays super well but… what's the point if I am never free? Yesterday I had to wake up at 3:30 am to get there in time and came home at 8:00 pm, I had time to shower then went to bed because today I was supposed to get up even earlier. That is fucking insane. I was so tired I had a fever earlier and a panic attack. Last week I started at midday and I got home at 1AM BUT then I had to go to work at 4AM. I could not have even met my girlfriend like ever if I kept doing this which is the absolute most important thing for me. Seriously the only way to get some decent money is to work yourself to death?…

Working in hotel front desk. Have You done this as well?

I work nights only so I am always alone in my shift. So in nights as we all know people arrive to hotels little bit drunk or wild and many times are arrogant and disrespectful and think they are on top of the hierarchy. So lately I am done with this type of people and every time they come in as walk ins and act like boss I just ignore that house is half empty and I still have many cheep rooms to sell I look in system and than turn back to them and say ” Looks like we are pretty full and all is left is the high end rooms”. I fell no regret by charging them the max amount I can for room and other extras if they give attitude for treating me as doormat. And than it is funny to see how there attitude change when…

Daily reminder: It’s not your job to deal with crazy customers

I always hear horror stories of employees dealing with horrible, crude, and condescending customers to the point where they become on the brink of or even actually crying. Please remember, your bosses get paid to deal with this BS, if at anytime you feel like a customer is about to go from 0 to 100, get your manager/supervisor over to deal with them immediately. They’re the ones that get paid to deal with it. Sorry if this sub may not have been the right sub to post this but I really needed to get this out there. Please don’t be a hero, let those who took on the roll of being a “boss” to deal with the verbal abuse.

Show commitment.

Got a verbal warning today for not showing up to work earlier then our start time. Been working for 8 months now at this job, only had 1 day I was actually later then our start time. Was told by the boss that I should be there at 8 am, we have had 3 reviews and I have always been very open about accepting criticism for whatever I would need to adjust. Not a single word about my start times has ever been mentioned. But, today I was stopped and given a verbal warning because I came in only a min or two before we open. Told me I am consistently the last one to walk in the door (false actually, I beat the office manager or my boss in 3/5 the time) and he would like for me to show my commitment to the job. So I asked “do…
