Lol no you don’t, and no I won’t
A recent example of employer entitlement
I was sat in the pub watching the football (unlucky Boreham Wood) with a couple of friends last night when one of them blurted this out. “Can I ask you guys something? If you were offered a promotion without a payrise what would you say?” I said “I'd laugh in their face.” He said “I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that's completely out of order. A FTSE 100 company not even willing to do the basics. I asked for a grand pay rise for it, I'm underpaid as is.” It's been playing on my mind since. I mean the gall of it, asking for the additional responsibility and work for free to someone's face.
So I work at a private owned shoe company that has contracts with very popular brands. They pay associates 7.25 an hour with 7% commission and key holders are paid 10 an hour with 2% commission. In the state of Indiana, it is illegal to take back earned tips. So how is it legal to take back commission sales when returning items are not our fault and/or the customer changed mind on the shoes? Especially after making connection with a customer and assisting them for 20-30 minutes. Also, would someone please explain if a companys policy full time to be 30 hours, why is it not considered overtime after 30 but 40? What if you are part time would that include 30 to be overtime?
Yeah mate good luck with that
I think I’m getting fired today
So Context, I had WFH two days this week due to train strikes and one of the days I forgot my laptop which my secondryy boss was angry about. But today I do t have the willpower to go to work at all. I am thinking of just working from home today as well but too scared to let my boss know. My main boss is away till next Monday so it should be okay. I am scared to mssg my other boss that I am WFH today as well. But anywaysssss
After correcting me on a minor error I told him “yeah man, thanks for letting me know.” Only to be told “you handle your emotions well for a female.” I told him how that was inappropriate but he looked right at me and said “yeah, and what the fuck you gonna do about it?” I've worked here for 4 years. This was our first real one on one interaction.
