I was 30 minutes late to work this morning because my dog is sick and I spent most of the morning cleaning up some of the “messes” she made in the house. I get to work and I’m told by my boss to submit a PTO request since I was 30 minutes late. I’m a salaried employee and work a minimum of 50 hours per week. I’ve never been commended by my company for the minimum of 10 hours per week that I work for free. But they demand I use my PTO for being 30 minutes late one day. So I just submitted a PTO Request for 0.05 days to my boss to cover for the 30 minutes of “lost time”. Happy Monday!
I've been training new people, and just from talking with them I found out they were making more than me. I've worked here for over 10 years and the new hires are all making 10-15% more than me. Given the situation I went up to my boss and asked him if I deserve less than a new hire with far less experience than me. He straight up lied to my face and said I make more than everyone except the one guy that's been longer than me. Keep in mind we are a small group of people and we all talk about money and I know for a fact that was a lie.
