These two thing have been the center of so much frustration. Both systems seem to do nothing but allow people to discriminate against whoever they want. They aren’t very helpful unless your rich and they are used for so many things outside if what youd expect there no telling how much they affect your life.
Just did the math
Before I'm leaving this job I need to work 44 more shifts to meet a benefit threshold. About $70 basepay a shift to close this restaurant. That comes to $3080 for wasting 44 nights of my life in this dumbass restaurant. What The Fuck. 44 long fucking nights for a measly 3 grand. This shit isn't easy either. I come home most nights too broken to do anything but lay in bed. And it actually comes around to like $57.50/shift because of tax. Which I get most of it back anyways at tax season because I make so little. The store makes $10k sales a DAY and I get less than 3 grand in 44 SHIFTS. NoBoDy WaNtS tO wOrK. Fuck Chipotle.
For context: my workplace takes good care of me, we have a huge culture of ensuring a good work life balance, bosses/managers treat me well, the work isn’t stressful, we never get overworked, it’s a chilled & laid back environment – it’s honestly ideal, we even get flexible hours (here is where the problem comes in)… So we basically get our usual annual leave days, and also we are able to earn days off – so for example, if I work an hour extra a day for 7 days, I can have an extra day off. Due to my managers never checking our timesheets (which we’re supposed to fill out), I kinda abuse this… heavily. I’ve taken 3 extra days off this year without actually working those extra hours, if I’m honest – I’ve probably worked less. I recently confessed this to one of my coworkers and encouraged him to…
This is how you quit a job
Short story. Grade 7. I was sick and in the infirmary. Another kid I knew named Steve* showed up. My dad worked until 1 so I had time to kill until he was home and they could call him, we talked a bit and the school nurse decided Steve should go home too. So she called his mom. Sorry she can't get you, her boss said if she left to take him home she's fired. I learned early on how shitty waitresses were treated. Steve told me his mom had been told numerous times basically your replaceable to shut up.
I work in a photography job and I’m being given hours that require me to get up at the crack of dawn, and I’m being scheduled FULL TIME when I am PART TIME. I am only given one 45 minute break even though I work outside in the sweltering heat. They set daily goals for everyone throughout the day, and I’m told that if the goal isn’t met you are written up Although They make the excuse that if you have good quality it won’t matter. I feel trapped. What are some good ways I can transition out of a job I hate into a work-free life where I make money by doing things I like?
Fuck Inflation and Supply/Demand
Just paid $11.00 for a watermelon……. Felt like Hitler in little Nicky with the pineapple…
And/or witnessed people jumping the line and getting promoted ahead of you for no good reason?
