Hello all, i was wondering what you think about being “corporate” on LinkedIn. My job is asking me to change the banner on my profile to one made with their logo and to put on my description a marketing-made speech about the company. I like my job and everything so far, but i don't like the idea of doing this.. What do you think ?

I work at a restaurant/bar. No big chains, the guy who owns us owns like 4 other bars/clubs. I am one of two servers who work regularly. We used to get unofficial staff meals, we're a tapas bar so one of the tapas or our burger, but no paella or ribeyes. But we just got the decree that they're cracking down on that and if we want anything we have to pay but we have a 25% discount. There's a lot wrong but for starters, everything on our menu is so damn expensive, with the discount our chips and salsa are $8. But incase that wasn't bad enough, our GM and his partner regularly eat there and have there friends over for free. I'm pretty sure our GM told our floor manager the rule yesterday whilst I servered them both a lot of free food, and then the GM helped…

I have been trying to find work for months. Hundred oh hours spent on hundreds of applications. My wife just got layed off. Both of us are coming to the conclusion that businesses aren't actually hiring. There are tons of jobs I'm qualified or overqualified for, but where either my wife or me follow up with the businesses we apply to 95% of the time they inform us they aren't hiring. The listing in there to have back up workers. Meanwhile my friends are complaining that they are working in skeleton crews because they don't have enough workers. Are businesses just deciding to run on skeleton crews because it's better for the bottom line? If so why do they have ads on job boards if they don't want to hire. One of the companies doing this is Walmart.

I talked it my general manager and told her I needed time off due to personal reasons and said I needed to change my availability for.thr time being she said it was fine so I did that on that app and not 30 mins later my other manager denies my request I'm going to talk to my general manager later but when the GM says yes but another manager says no I have no idea anymore
