Average two bedroom around me is 1500 a month. Having crazy anxiety cause any potential job I’m qualified for wouldn’t be enough on paper to rent anywhere. I have a child who needs her own room. These housing prices are insane and sickening. Minimum wage should be $20 at the absolute minimum.
What They Don’t Tell You
They took away everything that was supposed to make working life comfortable. They took away paid vacation, sick leave, bereavement leave, and retirement and told us that it was okay because that just meant we had to be extra hard working and extra creative. It meant we had to be the kind of people who made it happen. It meant we had to be industrious and full of grit and determination and optimism. It meant hustling and grinding and no days off. They took away our training wheels and it would make us become the best versions of ourselves. And when you're young and full of energy it's so easy to believe it. But then you do it for like 10 years, and you start to see the cracks in you. You start to break down. And then your mother-in-law dies and you realize that on top of working your…

If I can’t afford a ferrari, then I don’t buy a ferrari… If businesses can’t afford to pay workers a living wage and benefits, they shouldn’t start a business!

How is she supposed to retire? My dad is an engineer and it was enough to support all 4 of us, now my mom can't even find a job in medicine that will support her alone. She can't even declare…

I let them know yesterday would be my last day in office post baby and honestly hope HR contacts me about my bad attitude so I can explain how 4 different men thought they could tell a 31 week pregnant woman what she can and can’t do with her own body. It’d be different if they ASKED or said something like ‘I didn’t know you could have caffeine’ but no. Just the…
