tips on how to not feel guilty when calling out for my MENTAL HEALTH

I called out yesterday for only like the second time since working at my job (the first time my boss pressured me into coming in after I'd already called out) and I felt so guilty this time that I literally got muscle spasms in my back (I get them when I'm stressed). The day I called out was day 5/12 working in a row with no day off. What can I do to not feel guilty?

Sacked a couple of months ago

I was let go a couple of months back from my job with DHL. I failed a drugs test, now before anyone says I should be doing drugs I was suffering bad after breaking up with my ex misses. They heard I use, probably overheard me talking to someone, tested me and I failed. I was suspended for three weeks, called in for a disciplinary, laid everything out, I split from my partner, and her two kids who I adored, I fell in with the wrong people. After killing myself through Covid, working any hours they needed, taking 6 hours between shifts because we were short, giving up nearly every weekend for the company. They just didn't care, I was just a number no matter what I did, I was a broken man in my hearing, but they didn't care. Just remember everyone, they will replace you as quickly as…

My dad has been using work time to pursue his hobbies for forever. This is a deck from AT&T in the 90s that doubled as his canvas. He finally got around to painting it!

The workers who keep the economy going aren’t rewarded

You are taxed so much on your hard earned income and see little of it put back into social services or programs. Meanwhile if you're capitalists with stocks or real-estate you're networth just goes up and up. Not even taxed unless you sell. Oh but you can take out a loan at a low interest rate on your stocks so you don't have to ever sell! Because fuck the workers, you wage slaves!

A few years ago the company I worked at was slowly dying. My friends and I took photo strips as each of us found new jobs.

getting several write ups right before my two weeks end lol

My brother and I both work the same fast food job. And we're both nearing the end of our 2 weeks notice due to moving. The write ups are for both of us missing a “mandatory meeting” a few weeks ago. I overslept not to mention it was a moving day for me. (We had to move around the city alot with motels and airbnbs barely getting by with our paychecks) and we're leaving state now. We'll the write ups are for that and my brother brother being apparently short a few times like a month ago. And I'll probably be getting one they said on like Monday due to me being short (somehow a lot. I'm surprised I'm never short but I guess I gave out wrong change I guess) yesterday and I'm never short so it's a first time. But I literally have only two days of work…

What is with this tendency for others to frown upon quitting a job with nothing lined up?

If I've saved enough to get by on savings for a year, shouldn't I be able to do that if I'm burned out and want a break from working?

I had a shower epiphany today.

We start this off with I started a small business since I'm injured from a workplace accident and now not getting paid because Washington State decided to deny my claim for a traumatic brain injury. The Epiphany that I have had is I've not left the rat race. A human never really leaves the rat race even if they become unemployed or self-employed. You're just running on a different wheel, and I say that as if you're employed with a corporation you and hundreds or thousands or tens of thousands of rats are running on the same wheel and that wheel barely benefits you. Yes you get paid whatever wage they decide to trickle down to you but you're running for the good of something else not yourself. If you're unemployed you're on another big wheel with a bunch of other people doing what you can to keep that wheel…

How Capitalism Effects Children in School Too

One thing I've realized as I've got older is that basically nothing changes from when you're a kid to when you're an adult. Literally the same inhumane treatment of employees I see in this sub are the same ways I see children treated in school too. Back in elementary school we literally had “Full Attendance Awards”, awards you'd get from never missing a day of school You'd be encouraged to go even if you were sick, it's really no wonder why things like lice or flus would spread around the student body like wildfire. Teachers will even suppress individuality and prevent kids from speaking up- just like how employers treat workers. As a kid I once got punished for speaking up about how the game we were playing in gym class was unfair, and I was forced to sit in a room by myself writing over and over again how…
