Working midnight shift at a gas station. We had an outside customer bathroom and a private inside employee bathroom. Guy comes in and asks to use the employee bathroom. Easy no. Here’s the key, use the outside bathroom. Guy makes a big fuss, I’m not budging. 30 minutes or so later, a cop walks in. They got a call. A cop responded that quickly about that call. I explained the situation. Cop wasn’t exactly bothered except He had to pee. Asked to use the employee bathroom. I was young and timid, and honestly, working midnight shift in this part of town, you wanted the police on your side. So sure. Go right ahead. Cops left directly afterwards. A few hours later I went to take a piss only to discover that the cop had pissed all over the bathroom. Walls, floor, seat, sink, everywhere. Just a little reminder that, while…
I would totally watch it
(Reposted) I'll keep this short as possible. I worked at Papa John's for 13+ years. I was a GM for the past 6. I put blood, sweat, and tears into that company. So, obviously this past year with the “labor shortage” we haven't had many employees, and I've been doing allll the work, running doubles (13 hour shifts) back to back most of the week. This past Tuesday I was scheduled to work 10-5, and I had just worked doubles the 3 days prior. Well, of course the person who was supposed to cover the evening shift calls out on Monday. I let my boss know that I had something extremely important to do after work, and there was absolutely no way I could cover that evening shift. He tells me would try his best to find someone. Tuesday comes, and around noon I call my boss to see if…
Someone suggested I post this here from the two chromosomes sub. I'm 30 and my hair is starting to turn grey. Boss told me to dye it because I have to maintain my hygiene and look professional I'm 30 and suddenly last summer my hair started to turn white very rapidly. I have long black hair and it's very noticeable. It's like in the span of two months a third of my hair suddenly turned white. It does not bother me in the slightest and I never wanted to cover it with dye because I actually like it. My boss is one of those people who inherited a company and only shows up at our workplace a few times a year (usually to take Instagram pics to show off and post “inspiring” BS about being “self-made”) so I had not seen him since early 2021. The two other times he…

Can I have some money ?
It cost money for employers to take you away from your job and have you go through those meetings. So why not try to maximize your time in that meeting to maximize the cost to the company. You can do this by asking a lots of questions during the meeting. The question don't even have to reveal that you are pro union. You can ask one of senario question that really don't add any value but take a lot of time.
Is this a Free market economy?
It seems many confuse a free market economy with the cronyism we have been saddled with since the end of WWII. The USA did not figure out the problems that led to the great depression, instead, we used WWII as a catapult to begin a debt based economy, which is now on the verge of sinking. There are of course many factors that at play. I am interested, who here has actually experienced or been part of “free market” and then worked here. Notice any differences?
