I have been working remotely for past 3 months after being onsite for 3.5 years. Requested 2 weeks off and was told that I can’t get time off unless I am back on site. Is this even legal? There’s no policy from company’s HR on requirement of being on site to get time off. Is my manager trying to be pull up a fast one?
Does anyone else on this sub feel and overwhelming sense of hopelessness over the current work environment? It seems most companies are terrible places to work for ones mental health and pay their workers shit. I for one can’t see how this will ever improve. I feel like it is my fate to toil away at a soul sucking job for table scraps.
So I live in Hawaii and I work for a small security company. I've been working here for about 7 months now since I've been out of the military and it's been a solid job and my boss and office lady who is his wife and manages our schedules are both really nice and considerate of people needing off days and whatnot. So, since it's a security job my shifts are 12-hour shifts. Some weeks I'll work around 5 days and that's a 12-hour shift each of those 5 days. Never gotten a dime of overtime pay. Is this something I should even bother to bring up since it's technically supposed to be a part-time job?

He is the only person in this small business that knows his production area inside and out. He has asked the owners to hire him help many times before over the years and it's still just him. In his letter, he offered two options: his last day is the last day of March, or if they wanted to hire a replacement, he would train them and continue to work until the last day of May, but on a part time basis. They chose the end of March. We are 2 days away from the end of March and they asked him to stay until end of May since he offered. Excuse me what? He gave them two options and they made their choice. They're supposed…
My job is trying to retract a raise
My job gave us a three dollar raise. My supervisor and her boss another supervisor sent out a form stating the raise and it would be effective on 3/17. I signed the form and sent it back to my supervisor so she could sign it. Now our payroll person is stating he was told our raise wasn’t effective till 4/1. Any advice? I am pissed and confused.
