Posted here before about how my hospital risks patients and how I got harassed and bullied and retaliated against when I tried to speak up. I took this to the CEO and he asked everyone to do an investigation. Today I received a letter from the hospital saying that I am a liar and everything I reported never happened. I responded by telling them I resign effective immediately and the CEO was on the email too. I just took my stuff blocked their numbers and walked out. I never walked out of work before. I feel overwhelmed it just one thing to say I am a liar but its another thing to risk my patients on a daily basis. I don’t know how to feel. I feel devastated and upset. Need some moral support.
“If you’re homeless, just get a job!”
I work at a shelter. One of our guests got some bad news today. Homeless man: Hi I'd like to apply for a job at your company Job: Great application, you have years of experience in this field. We'd like to move forward with an interview… but you left the address blank. Where do you live? Homeless man: I'm homeless, trying to get back on my feet. Job: Actually we are gonna have to pass. Good luck though! This shit is a lot easier said than done…this is why we advise people not to disclose their housing status to employers. So much for the “labor shortage”.
My student loans will force me to work
For my one year at KU, my loan was $17,532.00. I started paying it back in 2012 with no help on lowering the payment amount or anything from the lender (which has been sold to other lenders three separate times). So ballpark, I’ve paid over $30,000 on this loan since then. Guess what I owe still? $20,246.31. The system is a fucking joke and needs to be redone. My estimated pay off date is 2034. I’ve almost paid back my loan twice over and still owe more than the original amount. It’s a predatory system that needs change badly. Mine is also a private loan that was originally from Chase student lending (that doesn’t exist anymore).
So I applied at this Holiday Inn. Found the job on Glass door it posted 30 days or so ago. Decided to apply because it was a quick application. Got a call back asking for me to come in for an interview. They emailed me the information which was nice of them. They added in the some of the scheduled shifts. Here is a copy and paste. “We have you scheduled for Wednesday @ 1pm for the interview. Please stop in at the desk, ask for an application and after filling it out, the interview will be done with No name. Please call if anything changes prior. Please note that this position is a shift position working 3-11pm shifts, and it requires working Friday 3-11pm, Saturday 3-11pm and Sunday 7-12noon.” Less then eight hours between two shifts? Come on that's no way to treat anyone. No wonder they can't find…
