This is never actually happened to me before. The company is one that’s well-known, and one that might be good to get in with. I applied for an administrative assistant/coordinator position but they called me into interview as a receptionist. I don’t know whether to accept the interview, try to finagle my way into a higher position, etc. any suggestions very much appreciated thank you keep up the good work anti-work
No one wants (me) to work anymore…..
I’m sick of employers not giving feedback and not giving answers by their deadlines. Wtf? I’ve had 2 interviews that I’ve worked so hard on and gone through the application process for.. the first job declined, which is fine, but they took several days longer than they said to make a decision on my application and now they won’t give me any feedback?? The interview lasted over an hour and they took notes! If there’s something I can do to improve I’d really like to know.. Now I’m waiting on the results from my second job application and I was supposed to get a response yesterday! This just sucks so much.. I’ve been doing interview prep and working on applications with a career advisor and I have some decent office skills. At least I’m actually getting a few interviews, I’m just sick of employers asking so much in the application…
It's so obvious not having millions of cars sitting in bumper to bumper traffic, where they get the worst gas mileage producing harmful gasses, would greatly help ease the stress on our planet. I'm sure even Los Angeles might have a clear day if we kept doing this. Then Biden comes out last night saying we need to stop working remote and return to the cities. It's so cringe that our politicians are just puppets for large corporations, who could care less if this entire planet gets scorched as long as they can make a buck. It just shows that politicians only pretend to care about our problems.
So, I'm sitting here with a torn rotator cuff thanks to a work colleague who decided drive a loaded set of power wheels straight into me on Monday. Am I pissed off? Absolutely! But the way my coworkers and ultimately the company treated the whole thing has me much more furious. No one except my union rep asked if I was OK. And I had to drive myself to hospital. And the almost unbelievable part is that the HSE were literally on site on the same day! Shame they didn't see my incident! No one from the company has asked how I'm doing since. I am thinking about using my time off work to update my CV and try my luck on the job market. I've put up with too much and now my safety at work has been compromised. Fuck that place.
2.5% annual pay increase
Today I found out my raise for this year is 2.5%. I’m leaving my current industry in six months. My sweet boss just thought that 2.5% was amazing and thought that with such a great raise I might want to reconsider leaving. The US inflation rate was reported at 7.5% in February. I’m sorry that I hurt your feelings by not jumping for joy, but when the company has reported record profits for 2 years….why is my pay not being increased to 2.5% ABOVE the rate of inflation? I’m not doing cartwheels that my pay is going to be more but still worth 5% less than it was worth last year at this time…
