Wednesday I got fired over the phone
I was set to return to work Monday after being on disability since October. Little did my former employer know I already had a lawyer ready in case I was fired returning to work. Needless to say I memorialized every conversation I had with my former employers but I have texts saying they still had my job upon my return only to get a phone call saying they got rid of my whole job title. With that being said I already had a back up job lined up and now I have a wrongful termination lawsuit on my hands
My first thought wasn't that I hope I don't get too stick or that I wouldn't be able to leave the house for the next five days. My first thought was relief at the idea that I wouldn't have to go to work on Monday.
Got fired for “thinking too much”
From feb 2021 i have worked as a door to door sales man, as we can all agree its a annoying job for both me and the people i talk to. But it was the only job i could get. I was really good at the job, because if your just nice to them and dont assholes and ask people who do really need the product you will fill out 9 forms a week. One problem with the system is that i need homeowners (aka asshole boomers) to get paid, we cant sell to renters for some reason. so i could give them the sales speech then find out they are renting so for some reason i cant get paid for them. So i found a smart way to make the business for affective and i dont have to waste time with people that the company refuses to…
I know the answer is no though… but surely there’s studies out there that show that treating your workers well is better for business? Just a rant. My work is negotiating our new agreement (covers many front facing employees) and trying to take away a nice financial perk we have. One of my biggest frustrations is that they keep boldface lying and saying how great a deal it is because we get some cash in lieu of the perk. But the maths just doesn’t check out. Why would I sacrifice thousands a year I’m currently guaranteed for a few hundred (at best)? They’re so big on making it look like we have a good culture. Many impersonal pats on the head. Emails telling us “look after your mental health during Covid!” Etc. And the reason they want to present that way is because our clients adore us – the people…
We live in hell.
Never any peace on company time
“Annoying Situation”
Just wanna be a stay at home wife.
I mean, title. I just wanna take care of my partner, and clean / cook and do stuff for her. I've never managed to hold a job for more than a year or so, always moving on or dropping because of various reasons, but just the thought of working in a professional setting fills me with such dread lately… I used to work 3 jobs at a time, before anyone calls me lazy. My longest running job, I typically clocked 55~ hours a week. And, I just can't do it anymore. My partner is very supportive, and wants to be the breadwinner, take care of me, and really enjoys the work they do. We're financially stable, and yet… I still get constant shit for not having a job. We make smart decisions with our money, and are happy and content. We can save up for things we want in a…
