Im so tired of this
I’m fresh for a worker, only 5 years under my belt working, but i have seen some of the shit you all post and it makes the future seem so bad. Living paycheck to paycheck, homeless with fulltime jobs, having no time to yourself while companies and businesses bleed you dry and toss you if you make a commotion. I would honestly no be surprised if some businesses started work colonies to have a reason for you to be around all the time. My question is, do you think its ever going to be better? I hate having a bad outlook on it all, because there is some good news, like the Amazon Union or some positive stories of making double or triple your worth doing half the work from leaving a shitty situation. Though, it still seems like it will be worse only because prices go up, and we…
I’m at a complete loss of what to do.
I'm (22enby) a full time pharmacy tech at CVS, and unfortunately full time in PA is only 30 hours. I was getting a full 40 hours up until a month and a half ago, because CVS forced our front store manager to hire more pharmacy technicians, then cut our hours because they wanted to make their profits look good for the start of the year. Now I'm down to the minimum hours required for full time, and we don't even have enough hours to give our part time employees any at all, so they have to go to other stores to work. I can also go work at other stores theoretically, but I can't physically do it because of my debilitating anxiety of driving anywhere in the city. I now only have enough money to just cover my bills and a meal every other day, then have to go to…
My craziest internship interview ever!
TLDR – Internship was not as the ad described, got sexually harassed by the staff during a tour, during lunch would-be-boss started drinking, brought me to a pub to do a final interview and continued to drink. Weird situations started happening. Would-be-boss drove me to back to the train station while under the influence. Randomly stopped to pick up his son from school. I got offered the job and a few weeks later when he called me for my response, i asked for more time. He called me unprofessional and retracted the offer. Thank GOD! This happened in early 2017, my university course had an industrial year for internships which i partook in. I applied for all the big companies student programmes but didn't hear back. So i went with one of the ads that the university was promoting. Big mistake! It was for a Tester and IT administrator…
Return to office for thee but not for me
As title says. Last week I've received email for Regional Manager which basically boils down to “All employees have to be full time in the office from May. Oh, and this does not apply to me”. What makes this even more infuriating is that this new manager is allergic to work. All she does is push emails and take credit for other people's work, and the only two days I've worked from the office she didn't even bother saying “hi” to us, regular IT monkeys. Oh, and I cannot think of any other time I spend so much time (2 days working in the office) and I had so little to show for it. It was basically two wasted days… Anyway, anyone looking for remote DevOps engineer?
Should I leave?…
Hi fellow humans! Firstly, thanks for chancing upon this post and I hope you are staying safe amidst the pandemic. I’m not sure if anyone has/had been in a similar situation but I would appreciate any guidance or experiences. I (30M) have been hustling at my current firm (in Asset Management) for a good 3 years as an Associate. Throughout this period of time, I’d like to think that I’ve sweat, and bled pretty hard to climb the corporate ladder at the expense of putting everything else aside like health and family. Some examples include (i) taking only ~5 days of PTO in culmination, (ii) letting my senior managers take credit for my work (as I felt that was most apt being the most junior staff in the team and trust that my managers would push my case up for promotion), (iii) clocking 60-70hrs weeks (which is relatively high in…
I start a new job tomorrow….
Was had over working for family, did 4 months and got exploited by them so quit over pay Now I'm starting a temp job in a factory/engineers as a production operator. What they make and their equipment all looks great but the reality is the job is no different to a generic factory job. Sure they make parts for planes and helicopters but aside from that there's little to get excited over. Of course it's through an agency so it's a 12 week contract which I may or may not finish. Depends if I get a better offer in a smaller/more friendly environment. Ideally more fabrication than machinist work. Wasnt even told what the job was before the interview by the agent plus I was told it's days only, turns out if they want nights then we're required to do so. Only found this out after I'd verbally accepted it…
