Amazon CEO Andy Jassy’s compensation valued at $213 million in 2021
not letting my cancel my two weeks
Put in my two weeks as an April fool's joke. It's April 2nd and I wanted to cancel the notice since it was an April fool's joke. They're not letting me cancel it. This is just surreal! Really having thoughts just walking out
So look at this nonsense

With the first Amazon warehouse getting unionized (hurray!) I did see one comment thread talking about, basically “all companies need a union. Except the police. Fuck their unions” and I didn't really understand why that was?
I work in downtown Buffalo, NY just for reference for cost of living. I work in the headquarters of a rather large bank on the Teller Line and we all have to pay to park. There is a big parking lot in the basement but 90% of the spots are reserved for executives so all of us working downstairs with the public have to park and we pay $89 A MONTH to do so and it’s the cheapest option. I know how fucking shitty this is but I’m curious how normal it is for people who work in the city.
I work in Florida, for context. In FL there is no law saying my last paycheck needs to be received by a certain time, unfortunately, but after working at this place for 5 years I saw a lot of employees come and go and their last paychecks consistently get “lost in the mail” (GM has even laughed about this with little air quotes, he's an asshole). I gave a notice but they were difficult the entire time, and even cancelled my direct deposit the day before payday so it would come to the workplace as a physical check. the assistant GM confirmed in a text that it was dropped in the mail last week, but I called Department of Labor in preparation just to get answers and they said wait one whole week and call back if it still hasn't showed up. Yesterday was a week later, nothing. On top…
I just have to say I don’t understand the need for it, join the union or don’t but don’t insult those on the opposing side especially if they’re trying to improve the work place for everyone not just them selves. Needless to say the group of guys he said it were very pissed off at him and straight told him to shut up because he’s talking bs and doesn’t understand the goals of a union.
He explained that his father's company (that he was VP of) was experiencing difficulties with their software being slow due to an ever expanding database of information. Upon inspection, I discovered their database was a mess and their software was garbage. I explained that I would build a new app and rebuild the database from scratch. I did this all the while having a full-time job at a dealership. I should also add that it was “tire season” at the time. This is the time of the year is when we swap winter tires for summer tires. I was the one who pulled tires from storage and put tires back into storage. In a season, we have roughly 220 tire appointments. Basically double that number and that's how many sets of tires I have to deal with in the span of about 2-3 months. Suffice to say, getting home from…
