I work in your average dining restaurant. We recently got a change in our General Manager. This guy is on a constant power trip. A case of strawberries got left on the counter overnight, and he sent all of the managers a text saying if something like this happens again, ALL of the managers will be having a chuck of their paycheck deducted at the same rate. Is this even legal? It seems like he’s trying to punish us rather than just cover the cost of the food wasted. Especially in these times this seems absurd.

My manager is very insecure and regularly says things like “I can see how that would be confusing” or “this isn’t finger wagging but” or he’ll assign me work/responsibility and then take it away if the deliverable isn’t exactly how he wanted it. He also regularly undermines or subverts my work. He’ll talk about me and my work with other employees/peers in my absence and make decisions about my responsibilities without telling me or disclosing a backup plan for how the work will be conducted. Just recently he told HR that I had moved to Mexico. I have a second home in Mexico, my wife is Mexican and my kids are duel citizens. 5 day work week is too fucking much
Its Friday and I'm mentally and physically tired. The morning routine and packing my lunch is mind numbing and at times anger inducing eating cold food that is then microwaved. But mostly it's just so much energy is spend in 5 days that by the weekend I don't want to do anything. Except I have to catch up on chores I couldn't do during the week! I'm tired
