Anyone ever think about a General Strike to demand a better pay for workers? Apparently according to Blackrock, we are the entitled generation. June 9th? Anyone?
I am kind of wondering if I am getting fired. I am a female and he is a male and he started out being very passive aggressive towards me and like overloading me with work. Well it seems he has done a 180 and is actually being nice to me. In the past when I would ask him a questions he would act super annoyed. He also basically pretend that I did not exist. If I talked to other guys in the dept. he would clear his throat annoyingly or break the conversation up. I am just wondering if I should be looking for a pink slip soon. Nothing has changed on my end at all. In fact, I was new at the job. Now he is actually being friendly towards me.
Workplace Gaslighting
Had an interview for an interview?
I just had an zoom call with a recruiter for a company that I was pretty excited about. They seem to have a great culture, flexible, good values, transparent (and great) benefits, and on top of that their main business directly challenges a major corporation that I have some moral qualms about. The chat was going great, until she started telling me about the interview process. In order to even qualify for an interview I would need to pass a coding assessment. The last company I worked at that required this ended up being majorly toxic. They overworked and undervalued employees, claiming to care about our “family” while laying off thousands of people worldwide in 2020. I realize part of me is just lazy and doesn’t want to take another coding assessment (who even has the time or energy for homework anymore?). The other part is wondering why this is…
Say at 50? This does not mean that the highest paid employee will be paid less necessarily. If you have to pay someone a lot, you can do that, just maintain the ratio. I know it's not that straightforward, but you get the gist. Sure, the CEO can be paid more than the average worker but 1711 times is just insane.
just been dismissed
So i worked for the national post for about 4 years. It was shitty work and a shitter work environment unfortunately circumstances forced me into this job even though I have a university degree ( Product Design). I thought about resigning multiple times but I guess a steady paycheck kept me there. Today I was dismissed effective immediately, basically because i don't want to be there so my performance was on the steady decline. I was trying to hide my smile when they told me and act regretful but truthfully i feel liberated. However that makes the question…now what? any advice? I like to think I'm a fairly intelligent and capable personm i have a university degree but unfortunately never worked in my field so I'm sure what kind of work to look for now as I definitely don't want to end up in the same place. Any help would…
Not sure if this is the right place for this but I had my vehicle “cleaned” here and they did a poor job so I contacted them. Owner is very quick to anger and if you look through the comments you can see he just claims every negative review as a scam. If you are in the St. louis county and need your vehicle cleaned, I would not recommend mobile auto pros. Screw work places like this.
Obviously all identifying info would have to be censored, but publishing itemized revenues and expenses (including anonymous payroll) would be the ultimate way for a business to prove that they couldn’t afford to increase wages, or their current wages are fair. If they’re paying an excessive amount for rent or supplies, that could be shown in a verifiable manner and help us all understand who is truly to blame. If the numbers check out, the community can more strongly empathize with the struggling small business – but if the numbers are ridiculous, it’s the perfect motivation for the community to hold that business accountable. What do you all think of this idea?
