Not much more to say really. I(20f) got a job at a local place that I wanted to work at for YEARS, about a month ago. Everything was going fine, until I got the text today. The worst way to get dumped is true with getting fired. My boss' son who is 30 simultaneously moved back to town. And she decided to give my job to him. I'm quite upset about this. I just feel defeated, and it's a shitty move that people can do this type of thing with absolutely no thought to who this affects.
I quit my job after the first day
Im not really sure how to start this, and I have a lot of details I’d like to include but many I’ll probably forget to type out so bear with me. I graduated almost 2 years ago with an engineering degree. I haven’t been able to find a job willing to hire me. It’s been very frustrating. Finally, I got an offer for a position that wasn’t really in my area, but close enough. However, the company was obviously very desperate to hire someone (the last guy left in October) and promised they’d train me. However, before accepting I took a look at the reviews online – complete dogshit. Many reviews were exactly what I was worried about. Longer hours than you signed up for once you start. Very little training provided. Shit management all around. The works. Of course, I can’t find a job in the first place because…
My district manager just called me lazy…
I work for a big pharma retail store and it happened our manager left for personal reasons and we have been going through a lot with floaters (district pharmacists) and today was the worst, we were very behind and some people that I never met came to help us and at the end of the day called me lazy, mind you I'm in training and I have worked my butt off five days a week without sitting and constantly running around, we are 450 prescriptions behind, and someone who hasn't worked there called me lazy. I don't want to work for this company any longer but I need my certificate. My other teammates do their own thing and it happens people dont get their prescriptions on time. And somehow he wanted to blame me… I really don't wanna go into work tomorrow.
The Amazon Leadership Principles (a little retooled) https://www.amazon.jobs/principles http://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/16/technology/inside-amazon-wrestling-big-ideas-in-a-bruising-workplace.html?_r=0 Customer Obsession Leaders start with the customer and work backwards. They work vigorously to earn and keep customer trust. Although leaders pay attention to competitors, they obsess over customers. Family Ambivalence Leaders would give away their first born child before they would lose a sale. Working only 60-70 hrs a week? Perhaps Amazon isn’t for you. Amazon leaders don’t stop until their spouses leave them and their kids are in drug rehab. Actually, even then, they don’t stop. Ownership Leaders are owners. They think long term and don’t sacrifice long-term value for short-term results. They act on behalf of the entire company, beyond just their own team. They never say “that’s not my job.” Control Leaders should believe they own everything. Some people call this being a control freak. Those people work at Microsoft. There is no project folder, no source…
