Starting a new job on the 18th, should I give my 2 weeks notice on April 1st??

Basically that. I wasn’t happy with a post Covid policy the company where I work has and my boss told me to work hard and get a promotion if I don’t like it (the next level doesn’t have to do it). So I went out and got myself a remote job making 43% more that definitely doesn’t have to do that task. Quitting on April Fools is sort of poetic. Edit: Where I work asked you to leave once you give notice and they pay you for those 2 weeks.

Stand up for yourself– and for others. Say “No.”

I work (unfortunately) as an independent contractor (IT support). Recently a customer company went through a change in ownership, and got put in the charge of a large management company. So, obviously, some internal policies changed. One of the policies was that every vendor (including myself) register with a 3rd party 'vendor portal' online service, and pay a repetitive subscription fee (and it wasn't a small, $5 fee, but that's besides the point– it was over $100 if you're wondering), and jump through a bunch of hoops for the privilege of potentially continuing to work for them. Keep in mind, there was no contract here. They called for on-demand fixes only. There was no monthly fee that I was able to charge them. I struggled for a long time, tried to figure out a way that I could comply (with both this and the additional insurance and worker's comp…

[UPDATE] One week notice effective today.

Original Post Hey guys, so I made a new post because I wasn't sure how far my story was bumped down on the subreddit and people have been asking for an update. Last I updated I mentioned how my manager would look into that money for me. While he was doing that, I made an entire excel spreadsheet that broke down how much commission I would make yearly at the current rate and I used the previous year's data to compare with. I broke it down into minimum, maximum, and average wage expectations. Basically, I wanted to see how everything looked on paper and what I would want to request from my manager. I emailed my manager asking for him to come over to my desk when he was free. I popped out the spreadsheet (which totally caught him off guard lol) and told him that this is the percentage…

After years of living paycheck to paycheck, I finally got a full time time job that I’m excited about!

I've barely been “living” for the past years. Couldn't afford a good meal or a dentist. After 4 rounds of long interviews, I finally got a job offer this morning with a six figure salary, great benefits and a relocation package! I nearly drove myself crazy self-studying for the technical interviews and couldn't be more proud of myself :)This sub really helped me realize that I couldn't stay where I was – stuck in a dead end job with nothing to look forward to.

Quit today and a coworker followed me

My job has been treating me terribly recently and tried to give me a written warning for something that happened in December, when I was on leave for a time. I refused to sign the warning and I looked at my boss and HR lady and told them I’m done. I quit. Went and said goodbye to some good coworkers (who later got in trouble because I spoke to them before leaving) Within an hour another coworker called to let me know that they had quit too. Boss and HR pulled him into meeting about some BS and he looked at them and said “I’m done” and left. I have not been able to stop laughing since. We are a very small group of about 9 people. 1 is on leave right now, 2 positions are already open, 2 people are interns who leave next month and today 2 quit.

the story of how I quit walmart

So a few years ago I was working at my local walmart as a cap 2 associate, basically we were responsible for unloading the trucks and stocking shelves. Things had been rough for a couple months and i had been thinking about quitting for a good bit already, it first started when we had a meeting with the whole team essentially telling us how bad we are that job. At one point he did say we all sucked and that were never going to make it anywhere in life… i had to endure this meeting twice as some people weren't there for the first meeting. So this began the beginning of my end at walmart. A few short months after that meeting I had stayed a little late one night maybe 10-15 minutes to finish putting away the skid of items I was working on. Well I came back in…
