I resigned and put my 2 weeks notice in at my last employer. On my last paycheck, these fuckers decided to: 1. Short my earned income 2. Take double mandatory and elective deductions, I mean everything: taxes, medical insurance, dental insurance, etc. 3. Take double my flexible spending account election It was well over $2000 they tried to fuck me on. I called them, emailed them and it was like pulling teeth to get them to talk to me much less rectify the matter. I finally got receptionist to confirm verbally that they had made a mistake, but they would not fix the whole problem. They only paid a portion of what was rightfully mine. It is so shitty how this companies have profits in millions ( sometimes billions) $$$ and they can go around fucking people. I did the “right thing” worked through by full notice period, returned their…
He didn’t show up the last couple days because he was sick. Today he apparently no call no showed. They told him he can come in tomorrow, but has to go to the office after work (after he’s clocked out, because he gets clocked out automatically after his shift) and get “written up”. I’m pissed for him and I don’t think anyone should stay a minute after they clock out. I’ve had coworkers stay and do more work after clocking out (in a minimum wage job too) which I think is insane. Does this sound legal? Honestly part of the reason he called out is because his mental health is getting way worse because of his job, and I keep begging him to apply to a new one.
Suicide Epidemic
Was called into a meeting at work the other day where we were told that yet another member of our team had attempted suicide, luckily (or unluckily for him, depending on his perspective) he failed in his attempt. We've already lost a few team members who successfully killed themselves for whatever reason. After the manager broke this news to us they preceeded to inform us that our team had the lowest score of the 4 shift teams. We were told to book our ideas up and start performing. Feel like I'm at my wits end. If something in my life doesn't change soon I feel like the next meeting will be about me.
I have 8 days that expire on 31st March . If I ask for them all off now can they say no? Then what happens – policy is no carryover . I hate this place and want to quit but need to secure a new job first
We are hourly employees, they schedule the meeting for 2 hours but I asked if I should put the 2 hour on my time card or 20 minutes and was told the 20 minutes. I spend more time driving there and back than I do at these meetings. It’s something new they came up with. I’m likely going to quit anyways but rather help my fellow employees out if this is an issue. I can’t find anything on our department of labor site so I’m guessing this is okay in Indiana. Heck I’d be fine with a phone call but they are wanting us to do it on location on our days off.
Basically just asking, I know a lot of vets and current troops who were radicalized from their time spent in. My buddy had his thumb sliced off in a firefight and isn't given adequate medical care for chronic pain – Hence he is against the government and capital. Major General Smedley Butler wrote “War Is A Racket” – Man was a die-hard patriot, and didn't want more of his boys dying for corporate profits. He was an Anti-Capitalist and a veteran. The feeling ive gotten from Leftist parties is that military folks are prized there – The Red Army itself was formed from the White Army. If the country wants to say it “cares about it's veterans,” then come to the VA, see a deafened Gulf War Vet, a wounded infantryman, see the mental health care they give for traumatized vets.
Anyone care to elaborate on how you’ve done this? Then, others might be able to replicate what you’ve done.
Should I be mad?
I accepted a new position with a new company that starts in a few weeks. Friday, March 4th, I notified my supervisor that I would be turning in my 2 weeks notice the following Monday. I've heard of them having employees pack up and leave immediately, but I wanted to make sure I had wrapped up as much as I could before I left so I let her know early. I submitted my resignation the following Monday and got an email from my manager asking if he could call in the afternoon. He ends up calling me at 6:30 because he was on the road all day, but he's interested in seeing what it would take to keep me around. (He spent the first 5-10 minutes telling me how awful it will be to work at the other company). I tell him I'll think it over and call him back.…
Best way to give 2 week notice?
I signed a contract that I would give two weeks notice. Currently it’s the middle of the day. I’m done. I’ve hit my breaking point for toxic work place and Hr abuse. Currently are in the middle of an internal audit and coworker just had a death in the family. Internally I feel bad but I have been crying at my desk and home. Family says I need to be done. Nothing lined up, did get a raise but we will be ok with one income for a bit
