I’ve been at this job for 4 years. Make six figures in a very high COLA area. Doesn’t feel like 6 figures. Tools automation makes my real work 2-3 hours a day. Pretty mindless work. Idea was to work this job and do something on the side but that didn’t really happen bc I’m lazy. Took this job when I got burnt out and turned out in consulting but I was a different person back then. Supervisor was my colleague and somewhat friendly to me. Knows I do the bare minimum. WFH and unfortunately got into a lot of drugs during the pandemic. Wife left and went through a ton of shit in 2020. Got sober in 2021 and trying to fix my life now. I guess I’m conflicted if I should keep this job or not. Im super grateful for my situation but I’m really not getting anywhere even…
So back in January I was at work and started feeling rough and started puking. Was sent home and told to return I'd have to get a covid test. Test came back positive and I'm told to stay home until I start feeling better. I was out of work for a week. Fast forward to yesterday, I get called in the office to get wrote up for attendance. 5 points is a write up, 6 is termination. Turns out when I was sent home they gave me 1 point for the whole week which pushed me to 5. So my employer felt it necessary to hold me accountable for missing work due to getting Covid. And they wonder why they can't keep people….funny. Tdlr: Tested positive for Covid, had attendance count against me.
Company won’t give me benefits
just want to rant a little here. I’m on mobile so sorry for any mistakes I got hired onto a security company, and it wasn’t great, but not bad. And then we got bought out. This new company is the worst fucking company ever. So bad that all of the higher ups from previous company left, so there is no one here doing anything. I got hired on as full time, and when time to do insurance signups in November/ December came up, I couldn’t. They have me marked as part time. Even if I was, I work 60 hour weeks so by law I’m full time no matter what. I had emailed my supervisor about this issue, and she completely ignored me. I kept nothing her until she finally did something. But that was after she found out the new company did the same thing to her as well.…
I quit jobs after 1 day before
They were crap anyway
I want a work from home job so badly. Though I only had blue collar job experiences. I think the only job I've had that may help me get a remote job was my unpaid intern at a computer repair shop. I am also a pretty fast typist and I'm hoping some data entry or writing job that's easy I could do remotely. I do have a decent computer set up and internet connection. My problem is I get rejected by a lot of remote companies even though my experience matches most of the job requirements. The only companies that do contact me are either scams or mlm companies. I just want to work remotely because I'm tired of my commute, waking up early, sharing a bathroom, getting home late and having 4 hours to myself, waiting for the weekend, not having time to cook, and so on.

I’m a monster
I realized one day just how many times I re-fill the soda fridge at work with the big soda bottles and that I'm responsible for enticing hundreds of people per day into buying thousands of gallons of carcinogenic sugar… How am I supposed to smile today and tell people to buy junk food and to keep spending on more and more food while people are suffering and dying in Ukraine? I have to leave to work in 10 minutes and my hands are shaking. I just want this nightmare to end, I can't do this anymore
I feel like I keep getting ghosted and declined because I'm inexperienced to work how can I get experience without it. Even applying for freaking internships you need experience it's so annoying.
