Why is the burden always on the worker. If a worker lives in a HCOL area they are told to move or commute longer but companies are never told to pay workers a wage so their workers dont have to commute an hour plus or struggle in the area the company choose to operate in.
If you are in a position of power, please explain this to me like I’m slow. How come teachers are so stressed and burned out and no one is doing anything about it? Also, can you explain to me why a Superintendent can give themselves a $40,000 raise but no one wants to pay the teachers more money? Am I missing something here? Can someone educated on this matter educate me on this. It’s obviously a problem if someone teachers are quitting. Can someone help me out here?
I call it the D.E.N.N.I.S system D – Demonstrate Value Essentially boils down to: do job interview and get job E – Engage Physically Go to work N – Nurture Dependence This is where it gets interesting. You should find a task or tasks that only you can or are willing to do, and do them consistently such that your boss starts to take it for granted, then it’s time for the next step N – Neglect Emotionally Stop doing the task, either by just not doing it because it isn’t in your job description, or quit, whatever is appropriate. This will make them realise just how much they need you, but your aren’t there so they get sad enough for step I I – Inspire Hope Offer to return to doing the task for a significant raise and do it S – Separate Entirely Use your new wage to…
REI union busting has begun!
REI Union busting has begun! https://our.rei.com/ This website was created specifically in response to the upcoming NLRB election in Soho. It spreads much disinformation, all under the guise of “cooperative” management. The fact of the matter is that while REI can pretend to hide under the cover of Co-Op Culture, it is a customer Co-Op, not an employee co-op, and runs just like any other top down, for profit retailer. Don't fall for it! If you or someone you know works at REI and isn't buying this nonsense from management, please reach out to the https://workerorganizing.org/ and https://www.rwdsu.info/ for more resources on forming a workplace organizing committee at REI today. REI workers from all over the country are beginning to stand up, and it's clear how their employer feels about it.
What good am I as a person if I can't compete in today's hypercompetitive world? If I don't have that killer instinct, that ambition. If I'm simply just not good at anything? To the thinking of many I don't really deserve to live. Those are the questions I've been asking myself the last couple years, and I've suffered through massive confidence issues and mental crises as a result. Even burger flipping seems beyond me at this point. I haven't been employed for years. Whatever few job interviews I've had never go well. I assume they just take one look at me and nope out of there. If there are any good qualities to me at all, they are not “marketable”. What hope is there for me, when even the strong, smart, fast, good looking and socially charming are struggling in our capitalistic society today?
