salary discussion rights.
I was in an ask reddit earlier and apparently a lot of people don't know their rights in regards to discussing their salary. The link below is a page written up by the NLRB that describes these rights. There is a link on the page that lists the exemptions to this. Know your rights. I hope this helps someone. https://www.nlrb.gov/about-nlrb/rights-we-protect/your-rights/your-rights-to-discuss-wages#:~:text=Under%20the%20National%20Labor%20Relations,for%20mutual%20aid%20or%20protection.
Capitalism requires constant growth in profits. Nobody sees the cost of running a business (and the profits derived from the business) as a fixed price, as something that would remain relatively consistent with upward and downward trends that reflect the market. The two are fixed points that run relatively parallel with one another. A person who maintains a well-oiled machine doesn’t expect the work or care taken to maintain that machine as something that should decrease over time as output increases. The work required to do the maintenance will remain fixed and then increase over time with the wear and tear as the machine gets older. The idea that someone would actually run a business is foreign to Americans and capitalists. That someone would acknowledge that wages and training and benefits are part of the cost of doing business, of oiling the machine, and be happy with a profit that…

As per the title. UK In January I got fired for “poor attendance” after coming back from 3 weeks holiday at my home country and catching covid on the flight back despite having almost if not pefrect attendance before that. 3 days after positive results I got laid off. After that I received what was a break down of payments I should receive for sick pay during these 10 days of isolation (employer can't fire us here while being on sick leave) and consecutive 2 weeks notice. Those payments were divided into 2 monthly payments. Some of it at the normal pay day in January and the rest in February. Here is where the problems started. I received the January payment on time as should be by the end of Jan but at the end of Feb when I should get my other part of the payment I didn't get…
Hi all, hopefully this is the correct sub for this question, if not and anyone knows where it would be better received please let me know! I'm going to keep things vague for privacy reasons, if this ever got back to me my work life would become even more hellish than it already is. So at my place of business (smaller company, ~20-30 ppl) the incentive to work is based in a quarterly bonus system (since we are underpaid imo.) We have no idea what this bonus is until we receive it, but are constantly told it's based on our collective performance and it is docked as the owner sees fit. For example: we have recently taken on about double the accounts we already manage, and as a result the production department obviously produces more waste. We are limited to a single garbage dumpster that is roughly the size of…
