bad management is ruining a job that I enjoy

I work at a ski resort on a skeleton crew, and I enjoy (most of) the work and the people that I work with. My boss even told me “hey, maybe you could stick around for awhile and right the ship here.” I'd be lying if I said that it didn't appeal to me at least a little. Turns out, upper management has been neglecting to invest into the resort for nearly 25 years now. All of that appeal that I had from the idea of sticking around for awhile is diminishing since it seems like any idea given to upper management will be turned away for whatever they want to do. I plan on learning as much as I can and getting enough experience to go somewhere else. I'm not gonna waste my time barking up the wrong tree.

Jumping through hoops

So this happened over the summer, but it still bothers me so I thought I’d share. I was doing a lot of interviews at the time and they were all pretty much the same, phone then zoom then in person. One in particular was very different. They started off normal with a phone interview, and in that call ha asked if he could send me some links via email. One was just to their website, but the others were a personality test and a skills analysis test. Those were no big deal, maybe an hour of my time total. I had a zoom interview next where all they talked about were the results and how they were above average. Awesome, so they want to schedule another zoom interview. The next zoom interview was very standard, and at this point I really thought they might offer me something. I get an…

HELP: Getting a raise via new position in same company

Hey guys, sorry if this is the wrong sub. I'm to be tapped as a construction foreman (for context, I'm a 3rd year electrician in a hyper specialized field with 10 years of experiance on the more difficult end of things of the industry) It'll be my first time as foreman and it's a departure from what I do everyday, there will be a rather sharp learning and relearning curve but I'm quite capable of taking this on, and management seems to agree throughly. That said, I'm hoping for a $10 an hour bump. This would put me in just a touch less then some other foreman (some of which are journeymen, others have never been electricians, most haven't been in the industry as long as me) which I think would be fair. I'm wondering if there is any advice for: 1) getting my $10 an hour overall with little…

Company giving me a hard time scheduling 2nd interview, how do I politely gtfo? Anxiety is keeping me up……

Recently got an interview through a third-party recruiter and while he has been incredibly helpful, HR for the company has been making the interview process more difficult than it should be. Had 1st phone interview with her a few days ago but for whatever reason, their company is marked 'Suspected Spam' so I cannot receive any calls from them, it goes straight to voicemail. Called back immediately and interview went well despite that and her off-hand comments about COVID… The next day, HR manager left voicemail at 5:30 pm saying she wants to schedule 2nd interview ASAP but she's already leaving the office so call her the next morning. I call 8:40 am Thurs, it goes to voicemail, I leave a message saying Thurs and Friday are too short notice for me so next Mon or Tues is perfect. I ask for her to email since there's still issues getting…

CNA at a hospital. Our manager asked us to go to HR to tell them how awful everything is because she’s tried and they won’t listen. It backfired and she got in trouble .

Basically what the title says. Healthcare is an absolute mess right now. We are constantly understaffed and it’s starting to get unsafe for the patients. We can’t take care of everyone. Us CNA’s constantly talk to our manager about it and she’s very understanding. She tells us all the time that she tries but no one listens. A group of 3 of us went to HR and had a meeting Wednesday morning. It was a lot of “have you talked to (manager) about this?” “Yes, we have. She encouraged us to come talk to you too so you could hear it from the source and not just hear-say” Backfired hard. Should never have said that. And she got in trouble.

Already Crumbling

After over a year of abuse, 70+ hour work weeks and many sleepless nights due to stress, I have finally set up a meeting with the owners of my firm to put in my notice. It has been 6 months of meetings to express how burnt out I am and how I am at my breaking point, but I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. I have been pumped and excited at the prospect of finally leaving all week… The issue is I can already feel myself crumbling and talking myself out of this decision. I am not good at quitting and letting people down. I have admittedly moved out of town just for an excuse before out of fear of dissapointing my boss. I need some help and motivation.

What should I do if boss is being dismissive of my W-2???

I moved this year and had sent my boss a message to confirm he knew this and confirm he sent my W-2 to my new address. I’m pretty sure he sent it to my old address and when I asked him about it he just said “I assume you had gotten your mail forwarded this should not be a problem” well dude, obviously the W-2 you sent last month did not get forwarded so resend my fucking W-2??? Any action I can take here? He’s a pretty nice guy but I don’t really feel like asking him again

Advice plz

So I am super anti work and have always been. I will leave a job without finding another when I’m disrespected and now have been doing gig work so I can work my own schedule- until I build something I’m passionate about. My question though is that my partner works an office job and is just absolutely miserable. She’s worked for this company for about 20 years and she’s super depressed and over worked etc but doesn’t know what she’d do if she left. I keep telling her she’ll figure it out and that this job isn’t worth it but she still stays. It’s getting to the point where I really can’t hear about it anymore, or see her this unhappy … but like. What do I do?
