Who else is of the opinion that the worker shortage is manufactured to get a lower overhead in the form of fewer employees, while at the same time recieving covid relief funds that can be forgiven under the proper circumstances? Step 1: Take loan Step 2: Keep wages as low as possible to maintain a skeleton crew and high turnover, encouraging employees to leave (not be fired) Step 3: Recruit without intent to hire and keep, only with intent to keep proof of hiring practice and to maintain step 2 Step 4: Qualify for loan relief for short term gain, allowing owners to diversify in real estate to perpetuate the rent trap This was already a corporate strategy before Covid, but since forgivable loans became a thing it's become incentivized, especially for larger operations. Since the card machines at the pump were not working, I was forced to stand in line next to a boomer. He complained and went on about supply chain shortages and the lethargy of young people’s performance at work. The boomer commented on the tattoo on my wrist “Are you in a gang? You’re definitely not getting drafted”. You’re damn right I’m not getting drafted. Fighting on the front lines of World War 3 and you’re going to be drinking wine in your multi million dollar yacht, surrounded by beautiful foreign women? I don’t think so. I’m currently interviewing to return to work. It was school holidays here in my area of the last week therefore my children were not at school. I arranged a day of childcare and arranged all my interviews for that day. I had received a call from a recruiter about a role the week before. For starters they said they had read my CV and thought it was suitable. They then explained the role and asked my availability – I told them my availability. I got an email asking for my CV ?! Which I sent. Heard nothing. Got on with my other interviews. Then on the day of my interviews this recruiter calls and says they want to interview me on Friday. I said I was not available on Friday. I said I had arranged a day trip with my children and that I had advised of my availability. The…
