The Most Dangerous Class
This made me think of this group: https://www.nationalreview.com/2022/03/the-most-dangerous-class/arguably the biggest threat to our economic and political system … comes from the growing number of underemployed, overeducated people. They’re what has been described in Britain as the lumpenintelligensia: alienated, angry, and potentially agents of our social and political deconstruction.
And on top of that the housing market just bounces around according to what people who live, or come to live, earn and are willing to pay for it? Plus, there’s no such thing as like real poor housing, no one leaves their home to use the outhouse to use the restroom like my families home in Mexico.
We've all seen the Sonic meme about there being no such thing as ethical consumption under capitalism. But I had This is random thought that's been bouncing around my head. Is consumption by its nature unethical and if so, should we treat it and understand it as a necessary evil? What do you think? (P.s. please don't be to harsh on me if you disagree/think this is a stupid thought. I'm just curious if anyone's had a similar thought or if there's something to this thought)
Modern job search

I want to quit my job immediately.
I work in an IT support office, and we are so understaffed, undertrained, and the workload is unbearable. Most guys who regularly work at the office can’t find the time to take their scheduled breaks, and everyone apart from me works overtime almost every day. Our management staff is hardly ever at the office, our supervisor is fully remote and talks to us for 15 minutes a day to tell us to work on things we’re already working on, and we have 4 help desk technicians, and myself as a hardware tech responsible for servicing over 80 client offices. I feel like I’ve been dumped into the meat grinder. I was given hardly any training to begin with, and was told to basically look at the documentation and figure it out myself. I thought it would get easier as I went, but it’s only gotten worse. My previous supervisor was…
Hi All, I am looking for a new job. There are many reasons for this. My leaves don’t get approved, behavior of my boss, bad work environment, no work recognition, etc. I am working in the current job since more than two years. Now I have lost interest in the current work and I have been looking for a new job since past few days. How should I behave in the meetings? Because many a times it becomes evident that I have no interest in the meetings. How should I hide the fact that I am looking for a switch? I don’t my boss or colleagues to get a hint that I am not happy doing this work. Also, it is very difficult to concentrate as I am always thinking about leaving this job. Also, I am working very hard to prep for the interviews. Any advise?
I called in sick during the week Thursday and Friday. My boss told me I had to work Saturday to make up my hours. Due to my sickness I had was not able to work Saturday and agreed to work on Sunday. My boss transferred my Sunday hours to Saturday to prevent OT on the week as I generally hit 40 hours M-F. Please advise.
We are living on a farm. A human farm.
Let's do a thought experiment. 100 like minded individuals are sick of working all the time. They get together and pool their resources. The group buys some land. They engage in farming, small scale manufacturing, or whatever they can think of so the community is self sustaining. They succeed and find that nobody has to work anything close to 40 hours a week to have their basic needs met. Life is good. But then the tax man cometh. They find your community is now worth millions of dollars using their mathematical pseudoscience and everybody now has to bust their ass to pay property tax. So incomes are forced to grow so the community can survive. Now the income taxes come on top of the property tax. Everybody is back to working their asses off to make ends meet when all they wanted to do in the first place was just…
