I live an African country with so much government corruption that we are hemorrhaging billions a year. And that's just government corruption. A significant portion of the people are piss poor and malnourished, with far too many not even having access to basic amenities like toilets or running water. Every few weeks there's a protest because people don't have access to things that have been promised for decades. Then there's a promise, and a failure to provide, and then a other protest. And the worst of it all? The same government that has failed the people for 3 decades wins the election. Every. Single. Time. This despite the fact that the one province where there is actually good governance is run by the opposition. What has this got to with antiwork? Like people here, you (I'm looking at you, USA) keep doing the same thing over and over over, thinking…
Who would ever be?
Just a simple one… anyone else get told all shift that they need to stay hydrated… then get looked at like they’ve grown a third tit when they say they need to wee? For those who have that happen, I’ve written a poem. “They make a dollar, I make a dime, that’s why I poop during the busiest part of the breakfast rush then say I was breaking down boxes out the back where the cameras can’t confirm or deny” ~ written from the toilet Edit- all pooping done with no detriment to coworkers, just managements $.
Walking Away from Start Up
Not as fresh as some of the other posts but I quit my job on Sunday night. Been there for 9 months. Got called in for an extra shift because it was projected to be busy. And as I’m doing my job, my boss asks me couple questions to get set up as well. When I didn’t have the answer for one of the questions, he slammed the table and yelled furiously why should I pay you. (His usual behavior). Now normally I would take it, say sorry boss what can I improve on but I have had enough of this bs. I responded with you pay me because I make more money for you than you pay me. Argument ensues. After the shift ended I went home, analyzed the situation and then told said boss I quit. Hard call to walk away from the promised money but when the…
