Nobody ever wanted to work. Ever. In the history of humanity, no human being has ever wanted to work. That’s why it’s called work. Labor that you perform voluntarily for its own sake is called a hobby. What we want is to exchange our labor for the ability to live life to the fullest extent we desire, and if we can’t do that, then what’s the point?
FOLKS I RESIGNED TODAY
I work as a software engineer in one of the reputed companies of a third world country. So yeah, today i dropped a bomb on the HR team. Its been around 2 years at my present company. It was going really smooth, but I couldn't bear the fact that I was being paid around 600$/month for a work that could be done remotely (yeah they called me to office for 600$) and i was being paid significantly low according to global standards. I know we live in a third world country and our expenses are “comparatively low” but fuck, i want to be paid according to global standards if I am working remotely and delivering the same quality of work as someone on the other end of the world. It just pisses me off. But the ironny is ,the IT companies charges here charges significantly higher (say 30$/hr for our…

Wage/work proportionality
I'm an intern yet I'm constantly treated like an assistant because I'm the only other pair of hands. I can't be reading pages and pages of stuff, making things all the time (the things you don't actually want to do in order to get to the final product), and be chasing things from people left right and centre when I'm on a part-timers/less than minimum wage. What I'm doing here is easily 1/4 to 1/5 of your job on minimal training already and yet I'm not paid even close to a quarter of your salary. I sometimes tell myself to take it easy and just work the leisurely pace of 3 days and 24 hours of work because you aren't paying me the money to monopolize my time at 40 hours, or the stress that comes with it.
I work remotely for a company in the healthcare industry. I make $24 per hour and still live in an apartment with my spouse and kid because we cant save enough for a house in this market. I really liked my job at first, I deal with volume based work and I work at my own pace to complete it, and have other duties as well with generally minimal oversight. I am pretty low on the totem poll with no one under me, which makes it hard because this special project involves talking to people much higher up and having to manage their expectations of the project and constantly act as an intermediary between 2 groups that fight on answers to problems constantly. I was forced to do this project (my job description does not contain any extra work beyond my daily tasks) by our department head who thinks they…
