Curious. I’ve read some other posts about employers that are being sneaky and taking extra advantage of ppp loans. I get it was needed to keep the doors open and survive during a pandemic. I have a question though. My wide worked at a salon I’ll not name. They received a total of 700k in ppp loans. They were shut down for about 3 months. She didn’t get any pay from them. She had to file unemployment. I know they pay a healthy lease payment monthly. It’s not 200k though. Where did all that money go? Funny they now are “remodeling” and have funds for things now.
I'm curious on that specific age range because it's after typical college age and before your 30s when you're typically supposed to have an established career rolling. I personally am going to be 27 this year and I only have like 5 or 6 thousand in my work 401K. I have several more thousand in my checking account but I eat out and smoke so much weed that I spend almost just as much as I make lol. I also have 3k in the stock market so total net worth of like 13 or 14k between everything? Definitely not on track to retire but I only earn 18/hr
Not sure if this fits here but wtf
i hate working so much it’s unreal
is it normal to feel anxious every evening about having to go back to work the next day? i can't enjoy my days off because i'm dreading the next day when i have to work again. it has never been different and it's not a matter of what job i work. i'd feel ashamed to quit though, my parents would give me so much shit and i'm worried what my coworkers will think, but i feel like life can't be satisfying if you're chained to your workplace half the time you're awake for the rest of your life
Showed my 9 year old son the movie Newsies (the old Disney one from 1992) tonight. At the beginning, he was all “This is the most boring thing” but at the end, he was cheering with the Newsies, play “punching” the screen when the owner/police were in frame, and shouting “Strike!” along with them all! I explained a bit about child labor and how people suffered and what unions got the American worker–but he really just wanted to watch the movie. It was a great introduction to this topic though, and I expect to be referencing it often in the future. If you have kids around 8-13, then this would be a great intro! https://preview.redd.it/5sqs9rh5xjo81.jpg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c00870a2107ce3e31b71c8518c69c56f4d30189
