if you're not working ? I mean if you can afford that. But why it's strange and unacceptable to some people ?
Very straightforward. I plan to move with a $4k budget before summer comes in. I'm looking to move eastside, (NY, NJ). I'm just really worried that I'll get myself into a position where I'm stranded with a job that basically enslaves you and drains you mentally and/or emotionally. I have a family, so I can't just sacrifice my personal time for a company unless they pay me a ridiculous amount with crazy benefits so I can put my family in a comfortable spot. Any companies I should avoid? What should I consider looking into? Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance 🙂
Profiting off of workers is theft
First of all, let's define what profit is. Profit is, in simple terms, revenue minus expenses, and understanding this makes it clear as to why profiting off of workers is theft. Let's say that we have a business. It makes P profits, which is based on the business's R revenue minus its E expenses. One part of the sum of expenses is the workers' W wages. But where does R come from? The workers, of course. They produce virtually 100% of revenue. If they all stopped working, the business would make no money. So if the workers' labor is worth R, why do they get paid W, which must mathematically be significantly less than R to turn a profit. Logically, they should be paid the value of their labor (R) minus the expenses necessary for them to produce that value (E). But where does most of the after-expense revenue go?…
So my Mother has developed really bad arthritis and bone spurs and god knows what else, anyway, she's always in pain. Sometimes the pain is so bad that she can barely sleep. She only has three sick days a year, and I'm sure a massive deductible, both of which make seeking more advanced treatment difficult. She also has a fairly long commute (over 1.5 hours, over 2.5 hours with traffic, which is often) and when she gets home most days she's on the verge of tears from the pain, and she mostly just climbs into bed because she has to get up very early to get ready for work. I feel like I'm watching her go through Hell. How can I help her? I've talked to her about working from home, which she could easily do. How can she go about demanding that from her employer? What else can I…
