I am gonna quit, but I was wondering if there is anything I can do? Or if anyone has similar experience?
We call a phone number to clock out. I got yelled at for doing it on my cellphone. Needs to be done from the job site phone. I got the number to the job site phone. I've found apps that let me call from random numbers but I need an app, or something, that will let me call from a specific number, so I can steal company time. Thank you.
At my work I'm always getting talked to about being on my phone when there is nothing to do because we always have everything cleaned up and ready so I'm wondering what I can say to get them to get off my back for having everything pretty much done.
I recall that mine was if “I was a brick, what area of this wall would you be?” I am looking forward to everyone else's here.
Where I work we are expected to come in on Sunday, for no holiday pay on Easter. We are not allowed to call in, even though our boss is taking the day off as a vacation day. He is also well aware that we are planning on not coming in regardless, which is why he’s threatening us all with “consequential action” if we don’t come in. Am I being unreasonable? I didn’t know Easter wasn’t a federal holiday. But we still all have plans with our families and had no idea we are expected to come in. I feel like I’m being bullied into not spending time with my family, which I rarely get to spend time with as it is.
Direct quote from a firmwide email today: “More than 300 of our colleagues in Dnipro and Kyiv have fled the war in Ukraine. Our colleagues in Lviv Service Delivery Centre have been coordinating evacuations while still working near 100% capacity and even hiring eight more staff!”
This is public information and it gives some good insight into the corporation you work for. As an example of myself hearing your employer tell you over and over “no cost of living raises” they only believe in “merit raises only”. Its likely that your exec's are giving themselves nice raises while everyone else is making less and less every year. Also look back into your companies finances for stock buy backs etc. And most of all the job market is on fire right now with lots of opportunities if you're unhappy go look for a better job and likely a raise. By possible I mean feasibly. Franchised big name brand fast food restaurants.
