Last Monday I put in my two weeks notice at my job. I’ve been here for going on five years, but haven’t seen a pay raise in the last two. Six months ago I accepted a new position within my company and have yet to be moved to it because “there’s not any staff to fill your role.” Since the beginning of 2022, including myself, six people have quit or are quitting. The Director fails to see his wrong-doings and has said to multiple other employees that “everyone that’s quitting is lazy and doesn’t want to work anyway”. The funniest part is that the Director and his “Deputy Director” haven’t spoken to me or even looked at me when I’ve seen them in the building throughout the day, since I’ve put in my two weeks notice. Their pettiness displays the type of work environment that’s been here since he was…
That’s a great way to build morale.
Things are way backed up at work because the vendors we use to save money are pretty incompetent and I get to spend a lot of time arguing with them. My boss says Friday, “it’s ok, don’t worry we have nothing urgent that needs to happen now.” Which is good because nothing was going to happen, anyways. I log in this morning and she e-mailed me a laundry list of shit that suddenly needs to happen now at 11pm Friday night. She keeps doing stuff like this and I’m amazed they’ve ever kept anyone. Like, has this ever worked over her career? I’m baffled at the lack of common sense. I’m at least a couple hours from being able to handle this and slowing down to vent because it’s visibly impossible. Just so, so stupid and demoralizing.
Ya!! I will send over my resume
Things are ramping up at my job to pre-pandemic levels. Just before the pandemic I was debating slamming my hand in a car door to get a few days off. Really hoping I get asked to move something and my back pops like a zit.
3yrs and feel burned out
Like iwant to quit and move countries Start over shall i do it
This happens every year – someone in the office will offer to run the company's in-house NCAA pool. Then it becomes a nightmare. Joe from accounting hands in his sheet, but promises to pay later. Janet from human resources filled the sheet out wrong, so teams that lose are still moving forward in the bracket. Donnie from logistics hands in 15 sheets. Louise from bookkeeping wants to know the cumulative scores of who's leading and who's not after every game is played. And it's an office time-suck to do it, whether you're “conscripted” to host the event or whether you have to work with people who are gung-ho about their picks. If you like the NCAA tournament, that's fine. But you don't need the hassle of dealing with it at the job. Just my opinion.
So I used to work at a popular smoothie place an a college campus. Let's call it Yamba Yuice. My issues with working here were many but, as a full time student, I needed the flexibility of working on campus. One issue was that I have chronic migraines so there were times I had to call out. Long story short, manager would tell me about how their migraines went away after a Mexican coke and even tried to see if I'd drive down and come in after I'd informed them that I was on a strong muscle relaxer. But the icing on the cake was 1 particular item… Smootie Bowls. These $9 items were just thick smooties with fresh toppings. Firstly, I tried to take an extra second or 2 to make it look nice. I'd try to layer the topping like in the product photos. Nope! Took too long…
