“Found out this was the last week I'll have a shift partner at work and I'm on my own from here on. And work told me they won't consider a promotion for me “until I am more confident”. ^Heard this from an acquaintance this week about why their workload is increasing and their wages aren't. Dear employers everywhere, how do you measure the confidence of someone who works unsupervised, alone, on night shift? I told my overworked acquaintance to ask how exactly they measure confidence. I'm curious what nonsense answer will be barfed up as a response.
So I'm sitting here after a completely ridiculous day of work and not even any of it has to do with the actual job. The work is so mind numbingly easy, imagine folding clothes, or sorting colors into bins all day. That's it. I show up for work and no one is there. Check my schedule. Yup, on time… I called the boss and it just kept ringing and ringing. Almost an hour later someone finally comes and opens the building… and that he dissapears for like another hour. Then coworkers start coming in another full hour later and people start bossing me around without even introducing themselves. Then I get bitched at after I took my 15 minute break they said I was gone for 20 minutes and they couldn't find me. They never said when break “was” though! I asked about my lunch since it is usually the…
Hello. As the title suggests, I’d like to give a more personal analysis of the current housing situation. Me and my wife live in Arizona, and are currently renting a 1 bedroom apartment in Mesa. 1700 dollars a month for a 600 square foot, 1 bedroom apartment. I work for Tesla as a tech and make an okay living. 27.20 an hour, which seems good enough, right? We’ve been looking for a house, and to tell you that it’s a nightmare is an understatement. 6 months of being outbid by an average of 30k dollars, cash offers of course. We maxed out our budget, and every time we find a house it gets bought out from us, always cash offers, always significantly more than the house is listed for. The worst one we had was a 1500 square foot house, listed at 430000. Almost a half a million dollars we…
I'm so proud of my dad. He's extremely conservative (I'm more middle of the road) and not exactly the guy I thought would be divesting in much of anything. He and I were talking about the skyrocketing housing prices in our area. I mentioned how we get about 5 calls or texts a week of investment firms wanting to buy our house. My dad said he was invested in stock with one of those groups but sold it when he found out how they were making it impossible for anyone to afford to own a home. He said he couldn't be apart of something that kept average workers from being able to purchase property. Yall, he is a die hard Trump supporter and lifelong conservative. 74 years of conservative. A business owner. And he looked me in the eye and told me he would not invest in anything like that…
“No one wants to work”
I have applied to a total of 19 places this week alone and only one got a hold of me by e-mail to set up an interview. Which was also 40 minutes away from me. Not to mention it was because someone I know heavily referred me. They said they’d have a decision made by this weekend, my interview went extremely well and they haven’t reached out. I’m going to e-mail tonight just asking where we stand. I already commute 45 minutes to and from work and I’m only working about 3 days right now. Even my dad who works for FedEx isn’t getting great hours and he has put in for several different places, e-mailed a few to reach out and called and nothing. I’m not the only one who’s been experiencing this. People complain that no one wants to work, but no one seems to want to hire.…
Profit is Unpaid Wages
Kill the Two weeks notice
If you’re not being paid a living wage, don’t give a two week notice. They don’t deserve it
