If so, what? If we're doomed to go down in history atleast lets think of a snazzy name. Pandemic era cause of covid? Apocylitpic era cause of the everything? Im sure we can think of something
I’m rather disappointed to be working today.
Hello, I am job hunting as I got my green card earlier than expected. My husband and I also decided to book a flight a few weeks ago since the airline had a promo for a limited time so we thought it best to grab the chance since we haven’t really had our honeymoon yet. We plan to visit my family also, as they weren’t able to be at the wedding due to requiring a US visa etc. Many people say since I’ve already booked the flight and the travel is 8 months away, employer should be considerate. So my question is: Is it better to bring this up during the interview or the job offer? Thank you all in advance. 🙂
If it's a big company with a dedicated HR department, you'll PROBABLY be OK, since they won't know you very well personally and will just basically be following a script if some prospective employer calls them. On the other hand, if it's a small office and the person who will be recommending/verifying is a petty, vindictive, grudge-holding douche nozzle, get out of there as quickly as you can. Hopefully, quick enough that you won't have to put them on your resume. You don't want to work for some place that will bad mouth you to prospective employers when you go out job hunting again. Some people love nothing more than to ruin your job prospects at every opportunity. Remember, you're only dating your job. You're not married to it.
The algorithm is trippin
My old boss freaked out on me when I found a new job. Started calling me names and even went as far as saying he’s the reason I didn’t get a job I applied to about a year ago. Saying he told them not to hire me for the sole reason of protecting his own personal interested. Pretty sure that’s defamation, but I could be wrong. He told me I was a shitty worker and did everything half assed. In reality, I was the one he relied on to do pretty much everything. After our exchange, I left his office as if I was gonna finish out my two weeks before the new job. I actually just fucking left after that because I felt extremely disrespected and uncomfortable. Never has he once brought to my attention that I am a shitty worker. Needless to say, I am extremely happy I…
When I started working my latest job, I was told by family and friends alike something along the lines of “be the best at the office. Don't conform with mediocre, always aim higher than anybody.” I sort of get the attitude. You wanna inspire others to do well and let them know you believe in them. But I feel like most people don't even conceive that I work exclusively because I have to. All i want to get out of my hob is my wage. That's it. I dont aim to be the best employee, the most efficient, the one that stays the latest and arrives the earliest. Nah. Quite the opposite. My goal is to work the least and put the absolute minimum effort without risking being fired. That way, I can preserve my energy and my good mood to thrive outside work doing things that actually fulfill me.…
