Uber just randomly added new surcharge without anyone's knowledge. It is a $0.10 increase on what service we were working ($0.45 or $0.55 on each Uber trip and either $0.35 or $0.45 on each Uber Eats order). There is nothing in our contract saying we are getting paid by a fee. We are not aware of such actions by Uber, we do not believe Uber is going to pay us the $.10 increase. You the customer will pay more, this is by Uber design to get more money. Uber has the right to change you more, Uber as history of cheating customers promotions. Do not use Uber. Boycott Uber!
Yesterday one of the managers in my firm (not my direct manager) called my desk and asked if I could work this weekend. I said no, I’m not available. He said that “the client wants the deliverable a week early, so what was now due to them on the 21st is now due on the 14th, so we’re really going to have to scramble over the weekend to get this done, so we really need you in for the full weekend. It’ll probably be 12 hours each day. Can I ask what you’re so busy with this weekend?” I said “Like I said, I’m not available this weekend, and I don’t need to justify that. I went by my local DG today only to find the doors locked and no cars in the parking lot. I went to one further down the street and the manager there told me that their entire staff had quit overnight, and her boss was scrambling to get enough people in there to reopen. It warmed my heart, never seen a genuine “take this job and shove it” like that before. Keep up the good fight
