I'm doing sales right now at a hotel and it's insane to see the shit people say behind everyone's backs. Like today I had 4 people shit talk each other when the other person wasn't around. Is this normal?
(This is a rant and I’m sorry lol) To be fair this particular supervisor has had a lot of shit reported on her to the higher ups and nothing can really be done especially cause she’s been at this hospital for like 30 years. Anyways she’s known to be an asshole to new people and be unreasonably nitpicky (while also not following standards, we work in healthcare for fuck’s sake you can’t just be completely negligent when your work involves people’s lives). I’ve had a few uncomfortable scenarios with her in the past 3 months I’ve worked this job at this particular facility and honestly I’m just not in the mood for it. She’s literally one of the sole reasons people leave, including myself. So I got lucky and get offered a new PRN position at another hospital in the area. And management over there and the people seem really…
Fired for not being a team member
Six or seven years ago I was pre-trade school and landed a warehouse job with a company that would much later go under for poor sales. Shift started at 0800, so I showed up 0755, hung up my hat n coat, sweeped the store and opened the door by 08, when the place opened. Small shop, big warehouse. They didn't really have a clear supply system for ordering or compatability for parts, so all of the knowledge was kept in the heads of the two old dudes working their. A pair of guys in their late 50s, early 60s who were a worker and a manager, and had the ol boy agreement between them that they were essential members of the company who did no wrong. Being the young buck meant I was to blame for stuff being misplaced, the shop being dirty (was when I got there) and everything…
This I don’t understand. I called the local Chinese restaurant to order dinner, I ask for delivery. The guy on the phone says they don’t deliver anymore, OK no problem Ill pick it up. I get to the spot and notice there are only 2 people working there (the father that owns the business and his son) and a very prominent NOW HIRING sign displayed. I know this is a family business, I eat there often and I know the people that work there and they told me they are all family. Since they were understaffed there was a line out the door. I added up the totals of the people in front of me, I was in line for 10 minutes and they took in over $500 in that 10 minutes. They literally are family and they don’t pay enough to their actual family to retain their employees. This…
And today it was finally true
