So i work as a quality management employee at a automotive supplier. My job is to assess/rate the quality of the product, corresponding work products and its compliance to standards of product safety. I take my job very serious as i am supposed so provide a statement that the product is safe. Doing my job i have identified multiple deviations, i documented them in the proper way and informed development to rework the work product. Long story short, they didn't do it and now i am being blamed by their managers for not telling them every week to do it (I actually did it but cannot proof it). I was in the same situation few months ago in another project where my doubts were ignored and now the company is facing a recall that will cost us up to 100 million $. Next week, i will quit my job. But…
Ordered online and tried to give a few bucks to the young man loading my car. He said it wasn’t allowed. I said it’s okay, I won’t tell. He said he’d get fired and the cameras are always watching. That others had been fired for taking tips. I don’t know why it hit me extra hard tonight, but it did. It made me sad. Why is Walmart against me giving my money away? They’ve upped their prices, cut their cashiers, and are making huge profits that aren’t trickling down to employees.
With all the teachers already quitting their jobs I think the superintendent of the school district my mom teaches in just signed up for a lot of quitting a protest. Next year they’re adding a new set of rules to make sure all teachers are doing an equal amount of work by making them clock in and out. The principals now are the ones approving if teachers can take days off and write them up for unsatisfactory things pertaining to these new rules. As if they didn’t micromanage teachers enough
Hello Antiwork I have been actively reading up on posts in this subreddit and have seen many of your accomplishments. How corporations and leadership screws talent on daily basis. No one is your friend/family in work culture, sadly I learned that too late. Little bit about myself, (this is throwaway account so idc), started with att out of college was hired at 70k junior and slaved away to 110k for next 8yrs, finally got kicked due to 2020 WorkReform mandate Att Panned years ago (covid fucked that up royally) they let go of massive talent in many states right before covid hit, probably many of you aware of att layoffs of 2019. Anyway i took my severance and joined verizon for a while as a contractor and then 2021 i got an offer from well known company who used to make razr @105k but they said 95k with 10% annual…
idk why i have this little feeling of guilt but I shouldn't. i know many say to hell with the two week notice. i only hear this mostly in regards office and retail jobs but what about dishwashers? I can only imagine the bloodbath that was left behind! I gave notice two weeks ago (dishwasher gig), so they at least had some applications and try outs supposed to come in (they dont always show up) but I did not work this week due to my health. completely crashed. gave a heads up a few days in advance i wouldnt be in this work week and explained my health reasons. and I didn't get any answer back so I figured they were just done with me. part of my feels a bit guilty cause staff were chill and I probably left a bloodbath behind – with no dishwasher present – but…
Gas prices high while oil prices drop?
It's maximizing profit because they know they can get away with it. Those that are supposed to protect us from such actions, you know those folks we elected, are profiting too. That is why they don't prevent it. Inflation is corporate code for taking advantage of current events to increase profits. The increase in the price of gas is exceeding the increase of the price of oil. We are once again victim to the power of those who control the means and ways. Until we realize and organize with the understanding that we are the ones that control the means and ways, we will continue to be subject to their control. We must come together with the knowledge of the value of our labor to leverage our power in the discussion. Without those of us who grind day in and day out they have no wealth, no power It is…
